The wheat market has been fairly quiet- during the week, and few purchases have been made direct _ from growers. Tuscan is easier than it was lost week, but hunters and pearl have maintained their values better. Up to 3s 8d has been givey for pearl at handy stations, but the best price now offered for Tuscan is 8s fid, while last week at least a halfpenny more could have been obtained. Growers ax© still holding firmly on to oats, and as buyers cannot male© any advance in the absence of a market, business in this cereal is practically at a standstill. There is likewise little doing in barley or oateheaf chaff. The potato market shows no change, and £2 10a for forward delivery is all that most of the buyers will offer. At this price a few sales are being made, but growers generally will not sell at present, as the crops that have been dug have not turned out too well. Onions axe again easier, £3 15s to £4 now being paid at oonntr ystatlons. LIVE STOCK SALES. AUCTIONEERS’ REPORTS. New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd.
