GOULDS COMMITTED FOR TRIAL,
Qj Xelegrapb—Press Association— -CopyrigU* LONDON, March 11. At the Police Court Frederick Gquld and his wife, In whose premises were found documents of an incriminating nature relating to the Navy, and who are charged with espionage, were committed for trial.

(Received March 12, 10.50 p.m.) LONDON, March 12. Mr Croisdale, an Admiralty official, gave evidence that a tracing found on Mrs Gould’s possession showed the arrangement of the machinery in six 18,000-ton armoured cruisers, the last of which was built in 1913, also the essential features of the ships’ design and other confidential information. Witness added that a series of written questions was found in Gould’s house, which related to the most confidential secrets concerning armaments and torpedoes.' SEVENTEEN YEARS’ IMPRISONMENT. VIENNA, March 11. A man named Jacob, an Austrian lieutenant, has been sentenced to seventeen yeans’ rigorous imprisonment for espionage during the mobilisation of troops at the height of the Bhlkan war. I A oode-book enabling the possessor to decipher the most confidential signals has been abstracted from a battleship safe and a clever imitation of a volume substituted. The only clue to the perpetrator is the discovery of certain finger-prints.
