FREE CHURCHES

CONFERENCE FOR CLOSER UNION. THE CHURCH AND THE CHILD. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright iiONDON, March 11. The Free Churches Council sitting at Norwich passed a resolution favouring a World Conference to secure closer union of the Free Churches; also insisting on a more rigid Sunday observance, and condemning the War Office’s encouragement of Sunday rifle practice. Several speakers declared that the results of Protestant methods in dealing with the religious training of the young compared unfavourably with the methods of the Roman Catholics.
