SECONDARY SCHOOLS
NEW SOUTH WALES ANNUAL REPORT. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright SYDNEY, March 12. The annual report of the inspector of secondary schools shows a net enrolment for the year of 6292 pupils. The inspector reports on the growing demand for places in high schools. The city schools are overcrowded., necessitating a large expenditure on buildings in the near future, and there are also signs of the supply of qualified teachers being unequal to the demand. The Hon. A. C. Carmichael (Munster for Education), commenting on the report, thinks' that the growing interest in high schools is one of the healthiest sighs that a vigorous, progressive education is fruitful.
