TWO AVIATORS KILLED. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright LONDON, March 11. Captain C. R. Allen and Lieutenant Burroughs were killed whilst flying at Salisbury Plain. The biplane used was one of the oldest, and was regarded a year ago as the finest in the world; The rudder bar broke, and the machine fell 300 ft. ALTITUDE OF 15,000 FEET. (Received March 12, 10.30 p.m.) LONDON, March 12. Lieutenant Briggs, a naval aviator, reached an altitude of fifteen thousand feet in a biplane at Eastchurch. The temperature was thirty-eight degrees below zero. The oil froze, but the aviator descended safely. His face was badly frost-bitten, and his eyes were black. He was sent to hospital.
