BellOf the visiting competitors, the only arrival so far is the present champion .sculler. Hadfield, of the fWaitemaUa Club. Auckland. Much to the disgust m the llocal clubs, the wind veered round yesterday to the north, raising a nasty job bio in the inner harbour, and practically putting an end to practice. However, local crews will be wise if they now cease boat work altogether until the time of their race. The visitors, on the other hand, will take every opportunity of accustoming themselves to the harbour, and given fine weather this afternoon, there should be a largo crowd of enthusiasts assembled at the rowing sheds about 5 o’clock. Details of arrangements are published elsewhere. In the event of a southerly the races will be rowed across Oriental Bay, finishing between Taranaki street and the Queen’s wharves;'if northerly, the championship course at Petone will be used, the finish being at the Korokoro. The following have been selected to represent the Wellington Navals’ Boating Society in the maiden fours in the Wellington regatta, which takes place to-morrow afternoon: —Coxswain, Master C. Foebig; how, A. E. Parker; stroke. G. Foebig; No. 2, F. W. Gardner, and No. 3, T. Burns.
