HOCKEY

THE RAMBLERS CLUB. A meeting was held in the Y.M.C.A. rooms last night for the purpose of forming a new hockey club. Mr Empson presided. After some discussion it was decided to affiliate with the main body, under the name of Ramblers, the colours to bo green and ’ white. Officers were elected as follows: — Patron, Sir Joseph Ward; president, Mr Empson; vice-presidents, Messrs Dwyer, V. Haydon, Alpe, Pfaff, J. C. Cusack, and P. Mclntosh; captain, Mr Spiers; treasurer and ■ secretary, Mr Threadgill; general committee, Messrs Gamble, Johnson, and Needham; selection committee, Messrs Spiers, Gamble, and Johnson; delegate to Hockey Association, Mr Needham. It was decided tp make a levy of 3d on members every playing Wednesday for the purpose of a reserve fund. A proposal by Mr Ebbet that all members must be insured* was carried unanimously. The yearly subscription was fixed at 7s fid.
