FOOTBALL
OMENTAL CLUB. Tho annual report of the Omental Football Club congratulate,, the htteen on winning the third-class championship, coming through the season without a loss. As a result the club holds for one year the silver cup presented by Mr Harry Card. Tho seniors pained third place' in the senior championsnip, and the reason they , did . not gain a higher position'was that members of the -cam generally showed a disinclination to train . One pleasing feature m connection with' the team was the good performance put np by some of the promoted juniors. The junior team, gained fourth place in the junior championship, but w.ere handicapped practically throughout the season by having their best men withdrawn to fill vacancies in the senior team. The third fifteen, the onlv team to train at all consistency through the whole season, showed, what could be achieved thereby by winning out easily in their grade without the loss of a single game. The fourths did not shine principally for want of Players, and the same remarks apply to the Wednesdavl team. In representative matches the club was represented by Messrs Kinvig, Gillespie. Shearer, Pitton, McLeod, Dingle, little, and Sullivan in senior football, by Messrs Shaw, McGirr, Carmichael and Gair in junior, and hr Messrs Browjie and Lindsay in Wednesday football. The annual meeting of the Wellington Football Club will be held in the Oddfellows’ Hall, Lambton quay, to-night. Practice will be held on the polp grounds at 3 p.m, to-morrow*
