Press Association. DUNEDIN, ‘ March 11. At Burnside to-day there wias a good yarding of fat cattle. The bulk oi the entry consisted of cows and heifers of moderate quality; but a few pone of good bullocks were also yarded. The demand throughout wee dull; And prices for fair quality beef were lower by fully 12s 6d per head, compared with Hast week's rates. The • demand for good ox beef was good, but prices for this quality were slightly lower than last week's rates. Good bullocks made from .£l2 10s to' 1313 10s, medium UlO to £ll, light .£8 10s to 129, good cows and heifers J2B 10s to '£S. ss, medium JE6 Its 4d to JB7 10b, light and inferior .«B5 to jBS Ss. Pat Sheep—3o67 were penned, the yarding being made up . largely of ewes, tho bulk of which were of good quality. The majority ftf the entry of, wethers were of moderate . quality. Competition for good quality sheep was good and theso were arm at last week's rates. Moderate quality sorts may be quoted to 6d per head below last- week's rates. Prime wethers made from '22s 6d to 245, extra to 27s 3d, good 21s to 235, light IBs 6d to 29s 6d; prime ewes, heavy 20s 6d to 225, good 18s to 19s, medium Its 6d to 15s Gd.
Fat Lambs—9Bo were yarded, and . the quality was rather better than what has been coming forward lately. Freezing buyers were operating freely, and the sale throughout was an excellent one at prices 6d -per head in advance of recent rates. Best lambs made 19g to 20e, good 17s to 18s, medium- 15s to 16e, forward condition 13s to 14s. . ;
