BURNHAM ESCAPEES

ANOTHER DASH FOR LIBERT*, Press Association. TIMARU, March 11. Two young men, named Wilson (16) and Matthews (17), who escaped from Burnham ,ou February 19th, and are suspected of breaking into a number of places, including tho Timaru Rifle Club’s magazine and tho Orori Rifle Club’s locker, were arrested,, at St. Andrews last week with two rifles and ammunition in their possession. They were brought to Timaru and remanded till to-morrow. Tho gaoler opened the door this evening in. the course of his duties and hoth bolted without hats, hoots, or sox. Tho alarm wse given, and the police and several civilians gave chase through the courthouse ground and a timber yard towards tho beach, where they were lost sight of. The search still continues.
