SYDNEY GAS BILL
ASSEMBLY ADOPTS COMPROMISE. SYDNEY, December 4. The Assembly has adopted the compromise reached with the Legislative Council on the Gas Bill. , It was reported yesterday that the Assembly had given way to several of the Council's amendments, including 3s 6d as the standard price. RISE IN SHARES. SYDNEY, December 4. The Government’s acceptance of the bulk of the Council’s amendments has favorably affected Australian gas shares, which sold at hlo 10s—a rise of .01 in a day.
