Mr John Deans Hope, a chartered accountant and stockbroker, lost the "West Fife Boat in December, to a Labour candidate, after holding: It for over nine years. Mr Haldane represented Haddingtonshire for twenty-five years. EAST CORK PETITION. BANDS, FREE DRINKS, MEALS, AND RIDES. (Received April 21, 11.35 p.m.) LONDON, April 21. In connection with tho hearing of tho East Cork election petition against the return of Captain Donelan (Nationalist), a large body of police was drafted into the city for duty at the court. Mr Tim Healy, for tho petitioners, said tho election was won hy means of eleven bands, ten torchlights, COO free railway tickets, 2000 free drinks, and 284 meals.
