ACCIDENTS
A steward on the Mokoia named F. Andrews, while running along the for ward deck of tho vessel at 8 o'clock yes* tarday morning during the pass-age from Lyttelton to slipped and fell heavily on the back of his head. He was rendered unconscious for three-quarters of an hour, and wag somewhat dazed for several hours afterwards. Andrews, who is about twenty-six years of age, has been on the Mokoia for about two months. The man was afterwards removed to the hospital where it was found that he had received a severe concussion-
Christopher Seymour, a single man and a labourer by occupation, wniie out rabbiting at Ohariu Valley yesterday, received a bad injury through the explosion of some He was trying to blow out a rabbit hole, and for some reason or other went to examine tho charge when it exploded, inflicting a severe injury to his face and shattering one of, his hands. Seymour waa taken to the hospital. ;
A nasty accident befel a man named Georg© Howard Walters, a married man, fifty-six years of ago and a -carpenter by occupation, residing at 23, Sussex: square, on Saturday morning. Waiters, who iB slightly paralysed, endeavoured to cross the street in front of a tram car and in his hurry, fell and broke an ankle and dislocated’ a hip. He was removed to the hospital.
During the passage of tho Mapourika from Nelson to Wellington on Saturday on© of Lady Mills's hands became jambed in a chair, and medical attendance was required.
