SATURDAY'S MATCHES. CONCLUSION OF ANOTHER ROUND , OP GAMES. The -weather .was fine for cricket at the Basin Reserve on Saturday, though the wickets -were -very slow. None of the games were of a particularly brilliant description, but at times flashes of good individual play were to b© seen. All tho matches which were commenced on the previous week were concluded last Saturday. The match between East A and Victoria College resulted in a win for East by an innings and 18 runs, but an even better victory was won by East B against North, viz., an innings and 69 runs. Tlio concluding stages of the South v. Central E match were tens© in th© extreme. Central B at th© end of their second innings had an aggregate of 220 runs, thus leaving - South a margin of 59 runs to compile before they could win. The South men went in to bat some time after 5 o'clock, and a few minutes before the call of time they had five wickets down for a score of 54 runs.. Burton went in to bat and was successful in winning the match for his side by making a beautiful stroke, off which ho scored five runs- South then declared, having won the game by on© run.
