A JUMP INTO THE HARBOUR

A woman named Anna Little caused some excitement on the Queen’s Wharf at 9.30 o’clock on Saturday night, by jumping into the harbour. She went down apparently to see the steamer Mana depart, and as the vessel drew away from her berth (No. 9) she jumped overboard. George Moore, a seaman on the Mana. dived over the side of the vessel and held the woman up till assistance arrived. A ladder was procured and the woman brought up on to the wharf, after which she was removed to her home. It is probable that she will be charged with attempted suicide.
