KARORI BOROUGH COUNCIL

Tho fortnightly meeting of the Karori Borough Council was held last evening. Tiro Mayor (Mr C. I. Dasent) presided. There were also -present; .Councillors Cathie, Raine, Spiers, AValmesley, Willing. Standen, Hildreth, Burns, and Wetlde. ■ ' ' A letter was received from the Wellington Gas Company with reference to giving the company a. share of, its public lighting should' gas mains ho laid down in the borough.—Received. . ' Tho Mdkara County Council wrote informing the Ival-ori Council that it will not want tho lights within, the county boundaries continued from date. The Upper Hutt Town Board wrote asking the council to send delegates* to a preliminary meeting of delegates from tho Hutt and Petono local bodies to discuss the Government’s proposed hy-dro-electric scheme prior to a deputation waiting on tho Prime Minister. It was resolved to inform the Upper Hutt Town Board that members of the Karori Council will attend the preliminary meeting to discuss the subject.
