WEDDINGS

BRETHERTON—KELLY. A wedding which created a rood deal of interest was celebrated at St. Mary s of the Angels Church on Saturday by the Rev. Father Yenning, when Miss Helen Kellv. daughter of Mr J. Liddell Kelly, well known in journalistic circles, was married to Mr A. C. Bretherton, son of Mr Bretherton, of Wanganui. The bride, who was given away bv her brother was gowned in cream chiffon _tatfetas. the bodice being soutached in bo-, lero effect, opening oyer a vest of exquisite point lace. She wore a veil and orange blossoms, and carried an artistic W w of white hothouse flowers made bv Miss Murrav. Miss E. Kelly, attended as bridesmaid, wearing a white tuck]ed muslin princess robe, and a black hat trimmed with black velvet and gold cord. Misccs Loiiise Coriigan and H. Harrison, both in white, embroidered frocks, also attended, carrying basket's of cosmeas and fern. Mr George Bretherton acted as best man. After the ceremony a reception was held at HelensI ville', Kelburne, where a large number 'of guests was entertained. Amongst those present were:—Mrs Burton, Mrs Jeffrey, Mrs E. Donne, Mrs Sievwright, Airs Corrigan. Mrs McColl. Mrs Fitzgerald, Mrs E. G. Hicks. Miss Ti-ngey. Mrs Pilcher, Mrs Levy, Mrs Wardle, Mrs Dawson, Mrs Fletcher, Mrs Stevens. Miss Flanagan, 'Miss Fletcher. Mrs J. M. Clarice. Mrs 'C. Wilson, Mrs De Castro, Mrs Munro, Mrs Kirby. Mrs Murrell, Mrs Beading, Miss Beading. Miss Sexton, Dr E. Huntley, Mrs Dovine, Miss Devine, Mrs Webb, Mrs Morton, Mrs McVyiv. Mrs Earle, Mrs Keane, Mrs Fowlds. Mr and Mrs Bretherton left during the afternoon for the North, the bride travelling in a tailor-made costume of -eacock blue cloth with black facings, and a black hat trimmed with black and gold. INGRAM-BAYLIS. ! At the Kent Terrace Presbyterian ! Church on Wednesday last, Mr Walter Ipgram was married to Miss Amy Baylis, daughter of a well-known Newtown 1 settler. Miss Edith Baylis, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid, whilst Mr W. ■ Ingram acted in the capacity of best ! man. The Rev. J.'IC. Elliott officiated. Mr and Mrs Ingram subsequently loft for Dannevirke. ; ' ■ .
