LOCAL FOUR WIN RINK 9 COMPETITION. VETERAN RtrNNERS-XrP. SPECIAL TO THB "TIMES." ROTORUA, February 17. Sectional -winners in. the full rink bowling tournament cduld not play yesterday morning owing to heavy rain,. It ■was decided, to continue early in. the afternoon, but tho conditions were very unsuitable for fine play. Remuera beat Bell (Wellington), and Ratorua boat Rankin (Mt. Eden). This morning the weather was perfect. Remuera beat Surnam (Mt. Eden), and Rotorua beat Devonport. The final, between McFarlane (Rotorua) and Paterson (Remuera), was played this afternoon. The play .was occasionally weak, but altogether proved exciting and enjoyable to the • big attendance. -At the nineteenth head they wore 16 all. At the twentieth, Rotomo scored 1. On the last head Remuera lay 4, but McFarlane, with his last bowl, made a dead head. Rotorua them secured 1, and won by 2, Paterson delivering two weak bowls. Tho aggregate age of the four players comprising Paterson's Remuera rink is 271 years. They were heartily congratulated on their splendid fight. Last year they won this competition!. The pairs match will bo concluded tomorrow. tTp to the present, Bell is the only "Wellington skip unbeaten.
