Stewart, who Iras been standing by at Port Chalmers, lias’taken Mr Blythes place on the Moeraki. The Tyser liner Tomoana, en route from Loudon to Auckland, sailed from Sydney oii Monday afternoon. She is. expected at Wellington, via Napier, on Alonday week. After discharge of cargo oho will load at New Zealand ports for London.

Tho Australian mail liner Katanga, Captain G. Pibmer, arrived at Auckland from San Francisco, via Apia* at 1 p.m. on Saturday. She .departed from San Francisco on January 14th, , and arrived at Apia on February Ist, leaving again on the ■ following day for Auckland and arriving as above. The voyage was an uneventful one, fine weather being met with throughout. The Katanga brought 500 tens of general cargo to land at Auckland. Tho FederaJ-Honlder-Shire liner Drayton Grange sails from Liverpool on March sth, for Australian and New Zealand ports.

A splendid run of thirty hours ;was •accomplished by the Abalwa between Adelaide and Hay, a teat which {.says the Melbourne ‘‘Argus'*) has never been excelled, if equalled. The last 200 miles of the trip Horn Cape Nelson were reeled oh in exactly twelve hours, representing a speed of a trilie under seventeen miles an hour. The Aiaiwa entered Port Phillip Heads at 5.30 x>.m. on the 6th instant, and arrived off Williauistown two and a half hours later. It is noteworthy that among 130 passengers who joined the vessel at Fremantle a satisfactory number * were booked by her rignt through to Auckland. Being appointed to leave Sydney on her next Homeward voyage on February 2tth, the Alaiwa will have little time to spare.
