MARINE ENGINEERS’ JUNCTION

HOUSE-WARMING TO-MOBROW. It is anticipated that between four and five hundred guests will attend the official opening, to-morrow afternoon, of the new , building of the Institute of Marine Engineers, in Mulgrave street. The principal function will commence at 3 O'clock. The Vitetta Bros.’ orchestra will be in attendance, and a vocal solo will he contributed by Miss Mercer, and Miss Esma Levestam (a talented young pionistie from Melbourne) will contribute a pianoforte solo. A large number of ladies will be present, and the committee of the institute wish it to be understood that any : lady friends who have been overlooked when invitations were issued will be entirely welcome. Mr T. G. Johnson, representing the Institute of Marine Engineers of Australasia, arrived by the Moeraki from Sydney yesterday to attend the event. Mr Johnson, who is now secretary of the Brisbane District of the Australasian Institute, was the founder of the New Zealand Institute. : Ho has consented to hoist the institute’s blue flag over the new building at 0 o’clock to-morroiv morning. ,
