The naval gunnery results, published in "-The Times" to-day, show that in 1909 the whole flee* scored 5108 hits and 4330 misses. The 12 and 10-inch guns had increased their average number of hits per gun per minute from .40 to .63 since 1907. . The China Squadron was first in the trials, scoring 68 points;- the third division of the Home Fleet second, with .49; and. the Australian sixth, with 40 points. H.M.S. Encounter scored 62 pointe, as compared with King Alfred's 79.
