Arrangements are now complete. For the sake of the oarsmen, it, is hoped, that a light northerly wind will prevail, in which case the championship couree at Petone will be smooth. Should the Regatta Committee decide to race on the town couree, a red flag 'will, be hoisted »n_ the Post Office shortly "after eight o'clock. Ir» the event of Petone lieing decided upon, a bl'ue flag will take its place. Local crews have not been able to do much boat work of late on account of the rough stato of the water. Little, stroke, of the Star's senior four, however, got his crew between the wharves about 7.30 last evening, and they did Borne useful work.
Most of the competing oarsmen me now in the city. The Picton contingent arrived on Thursday. Three Canterbury crews came up on tho Maori on Friday morning,- and the remaining crews, as well as those who arc to represent the Union Club, will arrive by the Mararoa this morning. Wanganui Union and the Wanganui Rowing Club's men brought their, boats, down last night. Those interested in the regatta will find all information regarding boats to follow the race in an advertisement appearing elsewhere.,
