A NEW CHIEF JUSTICE
» MR CULLEN SUCCEEDS SIR F. DARLEY. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received January 14, 10.35 p.m.) SYDNEY, January 14. The Hon. William Portus Cullen, K.C., has been appointed Chief Justice of New South Wales in succession to the late Sir Frederick Darley. M/r Cullen holds M.A. and LL.D. degrees, and became a K.C in 1905. He entered the State Assembly in 1891, and four years later was appointed to the Legislative Council.
