ASSESSORS APPOINTED. In connection with tire marine inquiry to be opened at 10 o'clock this morning at tho Magistrate's Court, under tho presidency of Dr MeArthur, S.M , tho Marine Department has appointed as assessors Captain 'William .Icihn Reed, of Auckland (formerly of tho Tys ;r Company's service), and Captain Charles MeArthur, of Wsllingtcn (of tho firm of McArfchur and Hull) Captain Reed acted as one of. uhe assessors at the magisterial in•quiry into the stranding of Llic steamer ('liar)ea YAv art) and tin scow Ururoa at Wanganui.
