KILLED BY ELECTRICITY. I*RTSSR ASSOCIATION. DUNEDIN, September 14. An inquest was held to-ds* concerning the death of George ShrilfTpton, who was killed at Waipori electrical works. The evidence was to the effect that deceased, while supposed to be otherwise occupied, had started with another employee named Clothier to carry pipes into the switch-room, regarded as the most dangerous apartment in the buildings—as medical witness put it, "a death trap." Deceased had not been instructed to go into the he had been warned against doing so, but being a most diligent man, who could not remain idle, had abandoned the work allotted him, as he considered it inadvisable to do it, and started with his companion to carry pipes. He placed a pipe carried by himself on the floor of the room, and on turning to Clothier, to assist him to lower his pipe, his head came in contact with one of the switches, the contact killing him instantly. The jury, after brief deliberation, returned a verdict that deceased was accidentally killed by coming in contact with a live, wire; that no blame was attachable to anyone; that the doors of the main building in future be kept locked, the keys to be. kept in possession of someone of authority. A YOUNG. WOMAN'S DEATH. DUNEDIN, September 14. An inquest was hold this afternoon on the body of Minnie Landsborry, twentysix years of age, who died in the hospital on the 12th inst. Evidence showed that deceased came from Sydney in October last, and was subsequently appointed nurse at Seaoliff Mental Hospital. She left her employment on the 2nd inst., owing to illness, and was admitted to the hospital on Monday last, being then very ill. The jury returned a verdict that death was due to blood-poisoning, the result of a miscarriage, self-induc-ed.l
