The Cunard turbine -.junior i.usitauia, now on the voyage from Liverpool to New York, was reported at 5.30 o’clock on Wednesday morning to bo 325 miles south-east of Cape Race, the south-eastern extremity of Newfoundland. The steamer expects to reach Sandy Hook, at the south of New York Bay, at 4.30 a.m. on Friday; but even if she is sis hours latvi she will still break all records. “Tho Times,” in inferring to the Lusitania, says the vessel’s engines are working perfectly, and have not been pushed. The steamer's daily runs have been: First day 556 miles (delayed by a fog). Second day—s7s miles. Third day—s7o miles. POSITION ON THURSDAY EVENING. (Received September 13, 8.58 p.m.) NEW YORK, September 13. Tho Lusitania was 135 miles eastward of Nantucket Island, which is about 220 miles north-east of New York, last evening. NEW WHITE STAR LINER, A RECORD-BREAKER IN SIZE. LONDON, September 12. Messrs Harland and "Wolff, tho wellknown shipbuilders of Belfast, have contracted for a White Star liner 840 ft in length and of 40,000 tons. The Canard Company’s Lusitania, at present the largest steamer in the world, is 7Soft lone aud 35.000 tons burden.
