Mr Bannatyne, late chief engineer of the Te Anau, has exchanged positions with Mr W. J. Cannon, chief engineer of the Tarawera. Mr Smart, superintendent engineer at Dunedin for the Union Company. ha« been granted a month’s holiday leave. Mr MoMurrich, superintendent at Wellington, will act in a similar capacity at Dunedin during Mr Smart’s absence, Mr J. Smith, late chief of the Moeraki, baa been promoted to act os superintendent engineer at Wellington during Mr McMurrich’s absence. Mr Smith will afterwards take up the duties of superintendent engineer at Auckland under a new arrangement by tha Union Company. Mr Gillies has joined the Mapourika a a third engineer, in place ot Mr P. Coote, who goes on holiday leave. Mr W. Morgan/ second engineer of the Monrovia at present acting chief engineer of that vessel.
