ENGINE AND TRUCKS DERAILED PEESS ASSOCIATION. NEW PLYMOUTH, , .cpvember 12. The midday train from Patea to New Plymouth met with an accident. At the Pariroa pa the train struck a bullock which had wandered on to the lino, with the result that the cow-catcher buckled and caught in the sleepers, throwing the engine off tho line and down an embankment. • The driver was thrown out, and narrowly escaped being crushed under the engine. The truck next the engine, containing cattle, turned turtle, but the doors burst open, allowing the animals to escape. The next three trucks were derailed, but the carriages remained on the line. , It is expected tKjat through communication will be restored within twen-ty-four hours. It will probably take two days to replace the engine on the line. Transhipment of the mail train to-night will take some time. It is not expected to arrive till midnight.
