ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
PKESS ASSOCIATION. DUNEDIN, September 12. , The electric oars were momentarily stooped this forenoon owing to a fatal accident to George Shrimpton, a single man, employed at the Waipori Electric Power Works as general utility man. No particulars are available. Shrimpton’s parents live at Berwick. Ho was about twenty-five years of age, and had been engaged on the works since they started. He is supposed to have been electrocuted. Deceased Was one of tho best men employed at Waipori, and had been selected for promotion. A boy named Nordmeyer, aged seven years, mot with a serious accident at Alexandra to-day. While attempting to climb up on a passing waggon he fell, the rear wheel passing over him. The boy had a leg broken and received other serious injuries. Little hope is held out for his recovery. AUCKLAND, September 12. Frederick Doyle, a member of the Permanent Artillery, stationed at Auckland, died in the hospital yesterday afternoon from the effects of burns received owing to a kerosene lamp accident on August 19th. Doyle was arranging the lamp in, the drill shed when an explosion occurred, the flames quickly igniting his causing the injuries. CHRISTCHURCH, September 12. A man named John Grcig, a roadmaker, was found dead in his tent at Kincaid Downs this morning. He had been drinking heavily for some days. DANNEVIRKE, September 12. An elderly man, Jan Jonasen, dropped dead while cutting wood at Norsewood this morning.
