MEETING OF CREDITORS
(Fiom Our Own Correspondent.) PALMERSTON, September 11. Only two creditors were present at the meeting held at Palmerston to-day in connection with the bankruptcy of Henry Ivor Broderson, of Levin, labourer. Details of the statement of assets and liabilities which showed a surplus of £ll7 15s 3d have already been published. The, bankrupt stated that in September, 1906, he went to Levin with about £275, purchasing a section with the intention of building a boardinghouse. The place was finished in February last, but he had not sufficient cash to furnish properly, and was unable to make it pay. Apart from, the labour he himself put into it the boardinghouse cost from £6OO to £650, : though the estimated price was £l5O. In order to complete it he had to borrow £IOO. He was unable to make ; any offer to : the creditors. All ho could do was to hand over to them all his property. The Deputy Official Assignee promised to inauire into the validity of the security hold, and it was thoughtbest to allow the present tenant of the Itotrdinghouse to continue in occupation for another quarter.
