HELPING THE SICK POOR
Tho monthly meeting of the St. Johiv Ambulrnce District Nursing Guild Committee yesterday afternoon was attended by the Mayoress (Mrs T. W. llislop), who presided, Mcsdames W. B. Tripe* W. 31. S. Moorhouso, IT* \V. Preston, J, P. Luke, 3?. Pearson, and W. 33. Fisher (hou. secretary). The report submitted by Nurse Sex» ton showed that 55?) visits bad been paid to the sick poor during March, that sixteen addit onal patients had been registered and nine discharged., A number of patientr. are attended to at the ofhee daily. Among those receiving attention are patients suffering from a poisoned arm, ulcerated legs, funda" mental parasite . cancer, blood-poison-ing, heart trouble, deljility, phthisis, chronic rheumatism, gastritis, fractnr ed ribs, pneumonia, and appendicitis. Une death occurred in the district, two patients were taken to general hospital in the St. John Ambulance, and ono epileptic patient to the mental hospiial. Gifts of clothing have been received from Mesdames T. W. W. If, S. Moorhouse, G. T. Bell, Mantell, Hurcombe. Watson. Ewinir. Cohen, Andercon. Bovce, Bevan, D.S.A., and " A Friend/' Medicine was supplied by Messrs Johnstone and McKenzie.
