“THE WAY TO KEN JUKE." There is no gainsaying that "The Way to Kenmaro” makcfi strong appeals to a very large section of the theatre-going public, as was evidenced by the liberal attendance at the Opera House last evening. iir Andrew Mack, who fills the role of tho warm-hearted Dan Maguire, infuses his part with natural sincerity and sings his own four compositions with artistic effect. Tho play is bright and incidents humourous ami dramatic follow in quick succession. The scenery is very picturesque and in keeping with tho atmosphere of tho piece. “Tho Way to Konmaro” will bo repeated to-night. THEATRE KOYAL. Tho excellence of this week's programme at the Theatre Royal by Fullers’ Vaudeville Company attracted a largo audience last evening. Among the most enjoyable items arc tho comedy sketch by Armstrong and Verne, tho ventriloquial performance by Victor the Great, Mr Percy Denton’s illustrated ballads, and Mr Val Newton's vocal contributions. Mr blade Murray, who made his reappearance, song a motto song, “What You are To-day, a comic number, ‘‘When a AVoman is Out," and he was compelled to add "Wrecked on the Rocks," a dramatic vocalisation with stage effects. Tho programme will be repeated to-night. “ O’CAX.LAGHAn' IN A FIS.” Mr Charles Vomer, has responded to tho demand for light Irish comedy with “U'Callaghan in a Fix’’ at His Majesty’s Theatre. The comedy is of , tho most approved typo of laughter-making pieces. Mr Vcrner as Sir Felix gives a tine interpretation of his part, and ho is supported by a strong cast. “ O’CuiInghan in a Fix ’’ will be repeated tonight. THE CATHOLIC BAZAAR. There was a good attendance again last night at the Catholic Bazaar in the Skating Kink, and brisk business was done. Tho usual programme of dances was submitted. Special attractions are announced for the two concluding nights of the bazaar. To-night there will be a club-swinging display by pupils of the Wellington Physical Training School, and Title Miss Johnston, who performed at the International Exhibition at Christchurch, will repent her electric light club-swinging act. A prize of £o worth of goods, from the stalls is offered to tlie five thousandth visitor to the bazaar. All accounts must bo delivered to the. secretary by noon to-morrow. Unsold art union tickets must also be returned immediately. DEBATING SOCIETY. Tho Vivian street Baptist Literary and Debating Society held its opening meeting for the ISO 7 session in the schoolroom last evening. Tho chair was occupied by the Rev. J, J. North. The report of last session’s work and the balance-sheet were adopted. Twenty-two new members were elected, and office-bearers were appointed as follows:—President, Rev. J. J. North; vice-presidents, Messrs A. Hoby, W. Eglin. J. Niool, A. E. Budd, ,T. H. Barker, and Miss Budd; secretary, Mr A. M. Proctor; committee. Misses Lonsdale and Johnston, Messrs Pargetter, Larking, Donovan; delegates to Debating Societies Union, Messrs Budd and Proctor, A syllabus for the coming session was drawn up. SAILORS’ REST CONCERT. A very large audience attended the Sailors’ Rost last evening, when a concert, arranged by Mr Parata, was given. Items wore contributed by Cimino’e orchestra, Mr C. Cimino, Messrs Quirk, Barton and -Asher, and Messrs Parata, Kerr, Tinney. T’vohill and R. Parata. A much appreciated item was an amusing iiak.a given as a finale. Miss McLaughlin has arranged to give a concert at the Rest to-morrow evening. .
