MEETING IN LONDON. By Tolegraph-Prosa Aaaoclatlon-Copyrighl. (Received April 7. J.3G p.m.) LONDON, April 0. Sir Joseph Ward. Premier of Now Zealand, attended the annual meeting of tho Institute of Marine Engineers Occasion was taken by Sir Joseph Ward to present to Lord Pirrie, chairman of Messrs Harland and "Wolff, shipbuilders, Belfast, a gold badge from the New Zealand Institute of Marino Engineers. Ho eulogised Lord Pirrio ns a great captain of industry. A similar badge was presented by Sir Joseph to Mr Archibald Denny, ol Messrs Denny and Company, marine engineers, Dumbarton. Sir Joseph declared that ns a colo. nial representative he would do anything to make hotter the link of affection between the Old and the New Worlds. Mr A. R. Hislopv secretary m the Now Zealand Institute of Marino En. gincers, expressed the opinion that the Navigation Conference would bo the moans of improving the status of British seamen.
