For the Cup, FabritThasbeeu supported locally to win £BOOO at 100 to 3, and 100 to 4, closing at 100 to 5. Gladsome received support to win £SOOO at 100 to 10. Maniapoto having eased to 7i to 1, Tartan Is now favourite for the Cup at 6 to 1. The official forecast is for fine weather. Mr WREN AND HIS HORSES. MELBOURNE, November 3. The V.R.C. having refused Mr Wren’s final payments foi the Maribyrnong Plate he has declared his intention of sending Gapon and Tom Moore to the starter. The V.R.C. to-day notified him that it would not allow them to start. Litigation over the matter is probable. THE C.J.C. MEETING. PROSPECTS "FOR TO-DAT. CHRISTCHURCH, November 3. There is every promise, of it being a fine warm day to-morrow for the opening day of the Canterbury Jockey Club’s metropolitan meeting. The course is in first-class condition. It is fairly certain that fourteen horses will start for the New Zealand Cup, six more than last year.
