NOTICE is hereby given that in consequence of Hto protracted dry season and tho serious and rapid diminution of tho quantity of water available, the City Council have absolutely prohibited tho use of hoses for any purpose whatever until further notice. A Special Staff of Inspectors has been authorised to take immediate action against all persons disobeying this injunction, and also in every case where any waste of water is apparent. It is desired to impress upon Citizens tho necessity for studying their own interests in tlris in.r.ftp.r, and they aro specially requested to assist tho Council by reporting (confidentially) to tho undersigned all cases of waste and unnecessary use of water which may como under their observation.
