A line of 17 bullocks from Mount Parnassus brought £9 10s to £11; steers, £7 5s to £lO 6s: heifers, £5 12s 6d to £8; cows, £5 2s 6d to £8 10s. No store cattle were yardedPat sheep—About 400, mostly prime quality, met good demand, both for export and butchers . The Totara estate Shropshire downs brought 30s 6d; Border Leicesters, 26s 6d to 28s; heavy freezers. 19s to 23s ; lighter sorts, 16s Id to 18s 6d ; best ewes,l6s to 18s lOd; others, 14s to 15s 8d; Merino ewes, 10s lid to 12s
Fat lambs—lloo, mostly good sorts; late rates were well maintained. - Totara estate shoiy lambs, 235. Nearly the whole entry was boueht by an export buver at 13s 6d to 16s 2d-
Store sheep—43oo, mostly ewes. A line of 2200 sound-mouthed ewes brought 17s 2d to 17s 4d: afew halfbreds at 16s 4d; aged ewes, 10s 6d to 11s 6d, a few wethers 13s 6d to 16s 4d; 1300 hoggets, 11s 2d to 11s 4d.
Pigs—About 400, mostly fats of inferior quality. There was irregular sale. Baconers, 31s to 45s and up to 49s for extra prime, average 3jd per lb; porkers, 18s to 30s. equal to 34d and 3Jd per lb; stores, dull, 8s to 15s for large and 4s to 6s for small.
