j PRESS ASSOCIATION. AUCKLAND. April 30. Tho Ohinomnvi census returns show tho population of tho county to bo as follows: —Last census 4761. present census 0915. Ridings—Waihi, 4271; Knrnngahako and Waikinn, 2183; Paeroa, 2132; Waitekauri, 1207; AVnitoa, 118. The census of Onehungn borough ehows 3015 as against 2D13 in 1836 and, 2324 in 1831. I CHRISTCHURCH, April 30. The census returns show the population I of Akaroa to ho 559, as against Cl 3 in [ 180 G. I DUNEDIN, April 30. I Crnsna returns givo .the population of tho borough of Mornington ■at 1009, against 3581 in 1830. Tho total at Port Chalmers *s 2i)5G, against 1901. Interim returns are now complete for Dunedin and suburbs. The unofficial figures give the total as 53.204. A preponderance of females is marked in almost every district. The total excess of females over males in Duriddin and suburbs is 2518. This, however. is leas than five years ago, when tho number was 2545. (By Telegraph—Own CorrespondentA WANGANUI. April 30. The census returns for Wanganui and Btihuvbs are now completed and show a total population of 10.520, an increase of 2125 on the returns of 1808, and making Wanganui rank as fifth city in the colony. It is worthy of note that there is in the borough a difference of only 68 ns between the number of males and females, the majority being in favour of the latter sex. The total population of the borough is given as 7336, and of the suburbs 3181.
