“ ELECTIONEERING NONSENSE.” So says Mf John'Duthie. I am sorry (wvites 'Mr R,, G. Knight) the ratepayers will not his ■'valuable services during tho coming' two years of municipal government. About- twelve mouths back, he,, with two .others, ‘awarded tho proprietors of ' the tram-lfne about ten thousand pounds, to be paid in about two years. When he came back from his visit to;-Britain, one ol the firstthings h 0 did was to complain because the 'city authorities' neglected' to 'hiirry up with the trahirline improvements. I naturally ilmugbfc lie wanted, to get on the job and finande the .municipal business to help t-h©',ratepayers to pay 'his own .award, and.-interest on the extra expenditure necessary 'to hurry up. I am sorry I, blundered. I .have . been .commended, for ;writ-ing tho letter -which ho terms nonsense.
