GREAT DEMONSTRATION AT AIALTA. LONDON, Alarch 28. The! Duke and Duchess of Cornwall were greatly interested in a trial of the Brennan torpedo—the invention of air Australian—‘which took place at the mouth of Valetta Harbour, Malta. The Duchess operated the mechanism used the torpedo, by means cf which a, boat was destroyed two miles outside the harbour. A grotesque water carnival was arranged for tho entertainment of their Royal Highnesses -by:-the)-bluejackets of the British warships, and- was a great success. . Huge canvas models of ah elephdnt,' a kangaroo, a dodo, a crocodile, and a dragon, illuminated from within, disported iu the evening on the harbour, which the vessels of the fleet illuminated by means of their search and other electric lights.
