BURNSIDE STOCK MARKET. : DUNEDIN, Wednesday. At the Burnside stock market to-day. 235 fat cattle were yarded, a fair proportion being good to prime beef. Sales were dull, and only the best quality kept up to decent rates. Best bullocks, £7 10s to £8 10s;: extra £9 ,17s 6d; -ood. £6 to £7 ss; best heifers, £C to £G 15s; good, £4 to £5 10s; best cows, £4 to £-5 10s. Of fat sheep 1821 were penned,'which proved quite sufficient for requiremeiuc. Business was fairly firm at about last week’s rates. Best wethers, 14s 6d tq 16s 6d ; few pens extra, 17s ; best ewes, 12s 6d to 14s 6d. Of lambs, 67fj were forward. A! 1 prime lots wore eagerly competed for. Best, 13s to los; few extra, 13s 6d; good, 9s 6d to 12s Gd. Of pigs, 72 were yarded, and were ail eagerly taken at enhanced sates. Suckers, 11s Gd to IGs ; slips, 20s to 225; stores, 2Ss to 325; porkers, 37s to 42s ; light baconers, 44s to 48s; heavy baconers, GOs to 655; extra heavy, 68s to 80s. AUCKLAND, Wednesday. The Fame and Fortune mine has crushed 174 loads for £563 worth of gold. Tribute parties in the Kuranui Caledonian have crushed So loads for £331 worth of gold.
