Mr Haselden, S.M., presided at the Stipendiary Magistrate’s Court yesterday morning and sentenced Patrick Fougarty for obtaining 12s worth of food from Annie Gertrude Martin by false pretences, to fourteen days’ hard labour. James Whyte was ordered to pay 2s 6d a week towards the support of his father. Frederick Scott Jeffries, for disobeying an order of the , Court to pay 5s a week towards -the-suppoft ; -of wife was sentenced to one month’s imprisonment with hard labour, the order to be suspended for ten days.
