GOLF.
The monthly competition for the silver cleek was played at Miramar links on Saturday, ami resulted as follows:
A men’s foursome against bogey for prizes presented by the captain and secretary was also played. A large field of 26 players competed, and keen interest was evinced in the result. The best scores were as follows; —P. S. Hodson and 10. F. Iladficld, I down: J. Duncan and J. H. N. A. Bnrnes, 5 down; E. Jackson and G. Dransfield, 5 down; A. Duncan Jam! IT. Rolleslon, 6 down; W. B. Lees and J. Coates, 9 down. ! Tire second round for the monthly medal of (he Unit Ladies’ Golf Club was played on Saturday afternoon. The following are the highest scores; —Mrs A. Pearce, 70, minus 6, total 64; Miss Lee, 93, minus 24, total 69; Miss Haste, 85, minus 10, total 75; Mrs Climie, 87, minus 10, total 77; Mrs G. Pearce, 103, minus 24, total 79. The final round for the Ladies’ Championship of the Wellington Golf Club will he played this after-noon. The ladies are Mrs Lee, who scored 102 the first round and 97 the second round; and Mrs A. Pearce, .who scored 102 in both rounds.
