SWIMMING.
PEOFESSOE PANNELL’S CLASSES. The Premier presented the prises won by Professor PannelPs pupils at the Thornaon baths on Saturday morning. In doing so be took the opportnnity of impressing upon the children the necessity of learning to swim, a knowledge of which he thought should be made compulsory. Prizes were then distributed to the followingGirls’ Race— Greta Ewen. Foot-first Plunge—Gladys Somerville. Neat Header and Fancy Swimming—Bena Butt. Boys' Eaoe and ' Neat Header—Bob Konayne, 1; Tom-,Ronayne,2- Girls’ Class Championship and Fanoy Rohayno (medal presented by Mr, Thomas Gray). Beginners'- Race—Alice Berkeley, 1 i Ivy Woods, 2. Pedestal Baca— Esme Somerville, Boat style of Swimming—Lulu Ewen,
