Vedette, the winner of the Final Handicap at the Australian Jockey Club’e meeting on Saturday, was well supported in Wellington, the bookmakers being badly struck by his victory. The New Zealander put up a great performance in running the mile and a quarter in 2min B}seo under Bst Ulb. The Chief, who was second, beat Vedette earlier in the week whenlhelatter was disqualified for being short of weight. There was a big field in the raae won by the “ Coaster on Saturday, who carried a lot of New Zealand money in the Doncaster Handicap, in which be ran fifth. - Tt is proposed to put the champion Bat? fa Hon over sticks this winter, and if he takes kindly to the game be will in all likelihood proof a second Malua. It is now stated that Anrum may not go to England at all. Mr W. B. Wilson being anxious to buy him back from Mrs Langtry.
