On the arrival of the steamers Mariposa and Faroe, from Sydney, both vessels were boarded by the police, who, it is understood, were looking for a personformerly a clerk in the office of the Orient Company at Sydney, and who, it is alleged, absconded with about -£6OO of the company s funds.
