WHETHER YOU BELIEVE IT OR NOT, It is £& Pact THAT CHRISTENDOM IS ASTRAY PROM THE BIBLE!!! IT is an ASTOUNDING DECLARATION, but It ia true, nevertheless. Just a litfle attention, if you please, to the following evidence of the fact, and you will see for ‘ yourselves that Church Teaching and the Bible cannot agree. It is generally admitted by all believers in the Bible, that it is an absolute necessity to believe the gospel. The Master said con- , corning the Gospel, “He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall bo condemned” (Mark xvi., 16). The all-important question arises— WHAT IS THE GOSPEL? It is all-important, because “ The gospel ia the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth” (Rom, i., 16). The answer of the churches to the question ia—the sacrificial death of Christ, and His resurrection. • The answer of the Bible, while not ignoring the importance of the death of Christ, is—“THE KINGDOM OF GOD.” Jesus declared that he was sent to “ preach the kingdom of God ” (Mark i., 14>. Ho sent his disciples to preach the same glad tidings (Luke ix., 1, 2)} and they proclaimed this gospel while in ignorance of the shameful death to which Josua was called upon to submit (Luke ix., 44, 45). Reader! Could they have preached what is taught in the churches to-day as the “gospel” while ignorant of it? This loans to another question, viz.; WHAT 13 THE KINGDOM OF GOD ? Consider well the following testimonies concerning the Christ from prophet, angel, apostle, and the Master Himself, and behold how sadly Christendom is astray from the Word of God! Isaiah ix., 7 1 “Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the ihronb of David and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for over.” (See also laa. ii M 2, 4 ; Kzok. xxi.,25,27; Jer. xxxiii., 15; 7eoh. vi., 12, 13; Dan. ii, 41.) Gabriel: “ He shall be/great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest, and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne op his aftiier David : and he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever ” (Luke i., 33). Peter : “ Therefore (David) being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne,*' (Acta ii., 30-31; see also Acts xv., 16). Jesus: (In answer to Pilate’s question “ Art thou a king, then?”) “To th s end uas I horn, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth.” (John xviii ,37 ; see also Matthew xix., 28; xxv., 31). The above quotations and references prove that the kingdom of God will be set up on the earth at the second coming of the Lord, and that it will be the kingdom of Israel restored. This was the subject matter of the preaching of Jesus and the Apostles. Search the Scriptures and see whether these things are so, and remember this WARNING NOTE FROM THE INSPIRED apostle Paut,. “ Though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other Gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, LET HIM BE ACCURSED ” (Gal. i , 8). .Header! This matter effects you. It demands your closest attention, your most earnest study. It is a question of life or death. If you desire to have reading matter on these all-important topics, or any questions answered, kindly address, in first instance, S.C., 9, Ellicestreet, Wellington, Correspondence Invited. “ The Truth Shall Make You Free.”
