MINING.
THE GOLD OUTPUT FROM THE THAMES. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, May 13. The Tararn Creek Company crushed 180 tons of quartz for bullion valued at -£255. The gold output tor tho 'Thames goldfields for the past month shows an increase on the previous month of ovor -T2200. This is all the more satisfactory as there was a decrease this month in tho yield from the Waihi and Waitekanri Companies’ mines, but as now vats are being placed at these mines there should bo larger returns when they are fairly at work. Two points are worthy of special note this month. One is that tho KucunuiCaledonian has entered tho list of gold producers, and tho other is the satisfactory return obtained from tho first run of the "Woodstock Company’s now crushing plant. The Talisman and several other English companics’ new batteries are now approaching completion, so that shortly there should be a marked increase in the monthly gold return..
