The committee discussed the proposal very favourably, and decided to ask the co-opera-tion of the president and vice-pretidente m tbe matter. Mr J. P. Firth, tbe Principal of Welling, ton College, in all probability will be asked by tbe Management Committee to deliver a lecture on football at an early date, for tbe purpose of exp’aining the new rules. Mr J. A. 'JhomsoD, who acted aa chairman of the Management Committee last season, will not be able to act on the committee this year, and io consequence tbe Athletic Club will have to nominate his successor. n A special general meeting of the Athletic Club was held at the Oriental Hotel last night, when 30 members were present. Mr J. Campbell, captain of tbe club, occupied the chair. Mr E. P. Hood was elected captain of tbe second fifteen, Mr W. Beck vice-captain, and Messrs Andrews, W. Wood and tbe captain a match committee. The officers for the third fifteen are Mr W. B. Tripe as captain, and Messrs Psgni, Cunningham and the captain as a tnitoh committee.
