AQUATICS
STAR BOATING CLUB. The first heat of the McLean Fours was rowed last evening over the northerly course, from the Rotunda to the boathouse, the dis* tanoe bsing one mile and a half. The fob lowing were the competing orewa: —Q.‘ Knight (bow), E. flobeu (No, 2), E. Burnes (No. 3). A. Newton (stroke) ; C. Hickson (bow), F Pope (No, 2), O. J. Cooper (No 3), H. Wiggins (stroke) ; T. Andrew (bow), G. Bethune (No. 2), G. Fache (No. 3), (3, Matthews (stroke). The race, which was a very good odo, resulted in a win for Newton’s orew by a length and a half from Wiggins’ crew, with Matthews’ crew two lengths astern of Wiggins'. Tho deputy oaptain aud captain aoced as starter and iudge respectively. Tj mghb the heat will be between tho following three crews G. Johnston, J. Hume and R. Wallace, WELLINGTON ROWING CLUB. A beat of the Senior Double Sculls was rowed last evening, when F. Moore (bow), C, Hooke (stroke) and T. Davis (oox), beat G. B, NicholL (bow), G. Parsons (stroke) and D. Plunkett (cox) somewhat easily. Mr J. Gamble started the event, the captain noting as judge.
