Owners of horses engaged at the Wellington R.C. Steeplechase. Meeting are reminded by advertisement that acceptances for the Trial Steeplechase Handicap (1 sov), Hurdle Handicap (2 sovs), Ladies' Trophy (1 sov), Wellington Steeplechase (3 sovs), and High-Weight Handicap (1 sov), and entries for the Selling Hurdle Race (2 sovs), close cn Tuesday next, the sth insfc., at 9 p.m. Mr S. H. Gollan’s Captain Webb has been scratched for all engagements at the Wellington R.C. Steeplechase Meeting. The Greymouth Jockey Club have appointed Messrs A. K. Guinness and H. M, Lyon as their delegates to the Conference of Metropolitan Clubs, which opens here on the Bth inst.
Mr W. Ward’s steeplechaser Flintstone has orrived at the Hutt to fulfil his engagements at the approaching meetings. He was on the course yesterday morning, and did a canter, going and looking well. The well-known trainer Stewart Waddell has purchased from Mr W. Douglas, of Hawkes Bay, the flat racer Bay Bell f«>r LSO, and a two-year-old colt, both of which he will take South.
